KARACHI KINAESTHETIC
“The only source of knowledge is experience.”- Albert Einstein
Experiences that we have during our lives shape us to become
contributing human beings in a community. The places we live, the people we meet, the moments we encounter all come together to help us make decisions, form opinions and have discussions. By sharing the memories we have, allow us to culture each other and become more knowledgeable about the world around us.
Karachi Kinaesthetic is a publication that touches on five memories that I have from living in Karachi, Pakistan.
The title uses the cities name – Karachi – and Kinaesthetic combining it as a play on the definition of the senses and as a visual or active way of learning about something. The publication is divided into five chapters; each chapter contains a story that is written through the different senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Five abstract illustrations, mostly hand crafted or collated from primary sources,
fill the rest of the chapter to help aid the readers imagination and pull together a full experience of the story.
